Wonderware Historian Client

If you accidently deploy an intouch node without installing the client, but then install the client later, it is necessary to redeploy the application after you have installed the historian client for all of the bindings to take effect.

Integrating an ION 7650 Panel into Wonderware Pt 1

This panel, the Schneider ION 7650 communciates via Modbus/TCP. My task has been to migrate the old Wonderware communications for this to the new Wonderware platform. My first difficulty has been that the old Wonderware was, in fact, not speaking Modbus to the panel but OPC. I could not find the "bridge" for this. I finally found an obscure link in one the documention PDF's to ioserver.com. This is apparently a bridge for MODBUS -> TCP.

I tried using Matricon OPC Explorer to browse the OPC points being served up, but I could only browse categories and not points. I don't know why I couldn't see the points.

My plan is to return, try to find this "ioserver" software and either utilize it or instead access the MODBUS registers directly with the DASSI Wonderware driver.





Update 10-27-14

A while back, I finished this up. It turns out that the software was so old that it could not be upgraded to speak with the new Wonderware platform. Scheider would have had to flown a tech out to upgrade it sequentially through several versions to get it to where it needed to be. There was no simple solution here unfortunately.
